Patch breaks Cacti?

Post by AntiSpoofing »

OK - linux is not my forte so I probably broke something, but I will be darned if I know what. I run Poller.php as root and cacti with no issues - no errors show up in the log. K. Now when I do a debug on the data source - it looks like it's going but I don't get the Ok at the end - what gives? (and no, it's not a permissions issue, I've got Boeing wide-bodies everywhere).

Example rrd debug:

Data Source Debug

/usr/local/rrdtool-1.2.12/bin/rrdtool create \

So the tool works, but no data seen. Are you sure your host responds to the wanted OIDs? Please try

Code: Select all

OID's? Yes they are responding see:

Post by AntiSpoofing »

I can do a response from polled OID's but I don't think that is it since the graphs on the localhost itself are not updating... Nor can I create new graphs - I get the magnifying glass but no new graph. It's seems like a permissions issue but it cannot be since I have 777/widebody...

Well, this looks good. I just noticed, that you've switched from load data to volume size data. But the last one is available as to your last post.
Next step is: please switch Settings->Logging Level to DEBUG for one polling cycle. Then, please have a look at ./log/cacti.log and find your host and the wanted OIDs. Please post that snippet along with the rrdtool update statements found some lines downwards.

Am not quite sure....

Post by AntiSpoofing »

What the rrdtool update statement is supposed to return - I got only a few lines...:
cat cacti.log|grep rrdtool
05/30/2006 10:23:42 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] DEBUG: SQL Assoc: "select value from settings where name='rrdtool_version'"
05/30/2006 10:23:42 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] DEBUG: SQL Cell: "select value from settings where name='rrdtool_version'"
05/30/2006 10:23:47 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] DEBUG: SQL Exec: "replace into settings (name,value) values ('rrdtool_version', 'rrd-1.2.x')"

should I be looking for something else? Am sorry if I am missing something...

So your Host[1] is failing? And you're running cactid? Then, please try

Code: Select all

cactid --verbosity=5 1 1
to get full debug info for that host only. Your snippet does not show load info. Are you expecting to get this? Then, please search your Poller Cache (see: Utilities) for a load entry

perl stuff fails. Perhaps perl is not in the path of your cactiuser? Please provide /full/path/to/perl for your Data Input methods, then Clear Poller Cache(which in fact rebuilds the poller cache) and retry. Please post again the results of the cactid run like the above
