An error occurred while loading http://localhost/cacti/

Post by benx »

I'm a newbie to Linux & SNMP so apologies for any dumbness... i am really keen to get cacti working for our little locustworld WISP network but I am getting this "basic" error when opening the cacti dir in a browser...
An error occurred while loading http://localhost/cacti/:
Connection to host localhost is broken
I have tested connection from PHP to Mysql via apache (i.e. mysql_connect) that is working.

I have configured, run 'make' & 'make instal'l (and they completed OK) for RRD tool & net-snmp - although I am a bit unsure how to test them?

I have imported cacti.sql data into mysql OK - I can see it & it is in a db called 'cacti'.

I have added a cactiuser both in unix & mysql.

I have chown'd the ~/cacti/log and ~/cacti/rra directories - but nothing is showing up in the log file (I chmod'd this to 766 for good measure).

I'm running Linux on a fresh install of Mandrake 10.

Any help greatly appreciated

Cheers

DBD is a database abstraction layer used by Perl (I think). It does not appear to be related to the problem that you are having. On the other hand, the segfaults that you are seeing indicate that there might be something wrong with your PHP. Perhaps try re-installing this package?
