Graph an expression?

Post by ste81 »

Hello all,

I want to get % used memory of a cisco router. This should be the expression:

(.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.5.1*100)/(.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.5.1+.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.6.1)

How can be deployed in cacti?

Thanks

Buon Giorno,
good news: this can be achieved
Method:
1) You have to create Data Sources for each basic OID of your fomulae (e.g. by copying the SNMP - Generic OID Template, changing the OID within, giving the Template a nice name and perhaps changing the name or the data source item as well). So you should be done with 2 Data Templates.

2) Then, you'll have to create a Graph Template, entering at least two Graph Items referring to each of those Data Sources (e.g. as LINEx or AREA/STACK).

3) Next, you should create some new CDEF reflecting the formulae, but in RPN

4) Next, a new Graph Item referring to Data Source "NONE" is needed that uses the CDEF from above

5) Last, it would be necessary to "supress" the Graphing of the "original" data sources as they would "destroy" your y-axis

Please proceed as far as possible and ask, if in trouble
