ERROR: could not lock RRD - php 5.1.2

Post by fonzo »

Hi!

Since i moved cacti from my old server to a pretty new one, my graphs don't get any updates.
While investigating the issue i tried cmd.php as well as cactid as poller and both results where the same:

ERROR: could not lock RRD
OK u:0.00 s:0.00 r:0.23
ERROR: could not lock RRD
OK u:0.00 s:0.00 r:0.23
ERROR: could not lock RRD
OK u:0.00 s:0.00 r:0.23
ERROR: could not lock RRD
OK u:0.00 s:0.00 r:0.23
...
04/27/2006 10:15:07 AM - SYSTEM STATS: Time:6.4064 Method:cactid Processes:5 Threads:10 Hosts:36 HostsPerProcess:8 DataSources:470 RRDsProcessed:355

I get one error per rrd, which means no more graphs at all.

I already checked the files permissions and had no luck, but i found this post that makes me believe i may have a php 5.1.x based problem. The server is running fedora core 5 with php 5.1.2 (selinux disabled), cacti 0.8.6h. Is there any chance to get more details about the problem in php 5.1.2 or even better: a fix for the problem?

edit: i checked for multiple cronjobs, and there is none. I get the same problem when i disable any job and try to run the poller manually.

Cheers,
fonzo
