How to Graph 1 Min Avg and 1 Min Peak

Post by lkhanna »

Cacti plot 5 min avg. Is there anyway to plot 1 Min Avg and 1 Min Peak.
I want to poll cisco, allot bandwidth manager, switches and some 3rd party SNMP enabled boxes.

Thanks - Lokesh

This is a planned feature for 0.9.0 - there is an older patch floating around for this.

However, due to the bursty nature of IP traffic, I wouldn't use it for network traffic - 1 minute polling will be very misleading, and not graph very well.

I understnad Bursty nature of IP Traffic. But why don't you give option to plot 1Min, 5 Min avg while adding devices. And then let person who manages cacti decide if he wants to plot 1 Min avg or 5 Min or both.

What do you suggest?
