Monitoring other Boxes

Post by mbiggs »

Hi All,

I have got Cacti up and running on a Red Hat Linux box and the default Graphs all look fab! My question concerns how to get similar results for other boxes i.e. can I "point" these scripts to other boxes??

What methods are prople mainly using to monitor other boxes? SNMP?

Thanks for all the Help

Sort of ready

I'm almost ready to give this out to you guys. I currently get stats on HP-UX, Sun Solaris and Red Hat Linux via sar and some stuff that I've written. The stats are pulled once a day and the data is sent out as a report via email to ppl at work. I have to work on an installer of some sorts cuz ya gots to hack a lot of stuff to make it work.
