User permissions not working

Post by sasha »

Hi everybody!
Since my start with Cacti (0.8.6) last week I became quite conformtable with all its aspects except with users managament.

Can someone help me by answering this questions:

1. Is there a way to restrict user to manage graphs only for selected devices and how?

2. Is there a way to restirct user to manage just a subtree not whole tree?

Thanks for your time!

Hi

AFAIK, permissions are for every templates / devices / trees / etc.

Permissions are not working, for example, I tried every possible combination for device permission. With default policy deny I add a host, then user can manage graphs for anyhost. With defualt policy allow I add the host, then again user can manage graphs for any host.

Am I doing somethingwrong or permissions are not working?

This is the default behavior, you cannot restrict a right to one template / host / etc.

Permissions only apply to viewing of graphs of hosts, not the management of the hosts.

user permissions

Post by klr0514 »

I am also having issues with permissions...

Admin account works for all tabs, Guest and a second user account work except for syslog (haloe), devices, and links. Same permissions exist for all accounts except user managerment.

Any ideas?

Nevermind... I found I need to add this to the .php file for each area I want exposed to guests

$guest_account = true;
