Daily Reports

Post by jbiel »

A nice feature would be the ability to setup a specific report to go out on certain intervals, which would contain the choosen graphs.

An example would be a report that was emailed each morning of the previous 24hr status of our sales off links to higher ups in the company.

Usually they do not want to have to go to a webpage, log in and find the specific connections.

This would be much like what Threshold does, but not on certain averages.

i.e. At midnight, a report runs, grabbing a set of chosen graphs for the past 24hrs and emails them to a set group of email addresses or a specific distro. list.

Thoughts?

I had need for this same functionality, so I wrote a Perl script that grabs specific exported graphs, MIME encodes them and sends them to a specified list of recipients. The script is invoked daily via a cron job shortly after the graphs are exported from Cacti.

I can give you a copy if you would like.

Actually I already have a very simplistic plugin that does this.

been out for a while, I just need to find the time to update it to add a lot of new features. Currently I have been developing a more robust scheduler for it.
