Difference Between cmd.php and cactid

Post by mormegil »

Net-SNMP allows for data to be sent via TCP in addition to the typical UDP. I was very happy to see that this seems to work with the cmd.php found in v0.8.6h if you place:

tcp:HOSTNAME

... into 'Hostname' field under a particular device's configuration. This does not seem to work for cactid, as cactid will gather all of my data except for those configured to connect with TCP. Am I doing something wrong, or is this feature supported, or planned for support in cactid? I use this aspect of cmd.php to tunnel SNMP information through SSH so I can gather information from hosts which have less-than-trusted networks between them and the polling server...

Andy

What is your operating system? Do you have time to work with me on correcting this right away?

Please test the SVN version. I have confirmed that this is resolved in that version. Post your results. Ping's now work if the host is prefaced with "TCP:" or "UDP:" in Cactid.
