Missing .rrd files

Post by ulle55 »

I'm fairly new to Cacti, so please forgive me if I'm missing something obvious....

I'm trying to monitor a Dell PowerConnect 3324 switch, but when i'm making a new graph for it, it tryes to get the file 'dell_sw_traffic_in_271.rrd', but it isn't there. How do i make it, så it can be found?

It usually takes a few successful polls of the device before the RRA is actually created, at least thats been my experience. If it's still not there I would suggest you post your current setup and versions and what OS you're running on and wait for more help.

Or find out for yourself why it isn't being created by, Turn the polling level in cacti to debug (Settings | Polling level) for one cycle, wait for Cacti to run, and paste the output of the actual log file (<webroot>/cacti/log/cacti.log). If it contains WEBLOG entries, then don't bother posting since they just clutter up the log. Turn off WEBEVENTS logging and try again.
