I was going to ask for help on this but I figured it out before I even typed anything.

If you get
[Fri Jan 06 16:09:43 2006] [notice] child pid 53748 exit signal Illegal instruction (4)

it's because you're being a dumbass and forgot to put your db settings into include/config.php... since they aren't in include/db-settings.php anymore =]

at least, that's what I did. Edited the file, and whouldn't you know.. it worked.

"child pid 53748 exit signal Illegal instruction (4)" appears in httpd-error.log and the front page of apache just stops/is blank from a browser.

Thought this might help someone who's also been eagerly awaiting a mysql 5.x compatible release.
