Net-snmp issue"can't fine module (NOTIFICATION-LOG-MIB)

Post by Tracy »

When runing snmpwalk command, getting:

C:\net-snmp\bin\snmpwalk -v2c -c public 192.168.2.2 .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.19.1.1.3
Cannot find module (NOTIFICATION-LOG-MIB): At line 1 in (none)
Cannot find module (NET-SNMP-AGENT-MIB): At line 1 in (none)
Cannot find module (DISMAN-EVENT-MIB): At line 1 in (none)
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.10.19.1.1.3.0 = Gauge32: 315

Although I got the value 315, why did I also get the error info "can't find ..."

I checked the configuration file: snmp.conf. It showed :
"mibdirs C:/net-snmp/share/snmp/mibs"

Under this mibs folder, it included all those modules.

Who can help me out?

Thanks in advance!

This is happening because some of the other MIB files are trying to include MIB files you do not have. It's not really important since Cacti doesn't use MIB files. If it bothers you, download the MIB files (search Google) and place them in your MIB directory.

Thank you very much for answering my question, BOSD2600! Just like I mentioned in the post, the problem was that the mib files were in the specified folder. The configuration file tells this specified folder for storing the mib files. Nothing was missing. Just feel curious and try to solve this unimportant problem.

Sometimes I just like snmp much more than script. Using script, I need to telnet to the machine run the commands to get what I want, which makes the machine log file full of this login information. In some way I think it increase the CPU load. But for snmp it is better.

Personally feel if installing cacti in linux system, it seems there are less problems related to snmp.
