Several questions/help needed

Post by jeremyp »

Here's the info:
Cacti 0.8.6g on Solaris 5.9. Using php 5.0.5, Net-SNMP 5.1.1, mysql 4.1.15-max, Apache 2.0.55, RRDtool 1.2.11

Few questions:

1. On the graph preview screen at the top of the tree, none of the graphics work. If I view the apache log, I see
ERROR: Garbage ':34:55 To 2005/12/05 13:34:55\c' after command:
COMMENT:From 2005/12/04 13:34:55 To 2005/12/05 13:34:55\c
in it. Any ideas?

2. Does anyone know of a good way to allow Cacti to generate graphs based on rrd databases created from another app? Cacti can't seem to handle the particular OIDs I need, but MRTG + RRDTool do. So I'd like cacti to make the graphs, even though the rra's are populated by another app.

3. I'd like to change the colors and such in cacti, brand it to look more like more in the lines of our other monitoring apps, any idea on where to start?

Thanks.

1. You have to escape colons with a backslash:
http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~oetiker/webto ... ph.en.html

2. Not sure.

3. If you mean branding or skinning:

So what do I edit to escpae the colons? SInce I'm using Cacti, I'm not quite sure why it isn't already like that, or how to fix it.
