Dreadfull: RRDTool Says: Access Denied message

Post by geertn444 »

Hi all,

I thought i must just let this know to the community.
I just searched 2 days to get cacti going (v0.8.6g), and i always got the "RRDTool Says: Access Denied" message and no single graph would display in cacti.

I searched all forums for an answer, checked every suggestion, but no luck.

Finally, i have found what it was:

access permissions to c:\winnt\system32\cmd.exe

The install instructions mention that the internet user (IUSR) must have execute and read permissions to this file. For me, this was the case.
So what is the problem ??

Please also check that the IUSR account has directory LIST permissions to actually get to C:\winnt\system32

Check all permissions on the dirs:
C:\
C:\WINNT
C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32

Make sure IUSR also has directory list permissions on these dirs...

After i had changed that, it worked !!

the web interface just couldn't spawn cmd.exe to run rrdtool.exe .......
