I'm trying to configure cacti/snmp on my network for 3 days now (2x2003-boxes, 2xwinxp-pro boxes) but i got some question before i can finish this work.
First: difference between graph_views. When clicking on the option "graph_view.php?action=list" and than my WAN-interface, a nice page comes up with 5min-/30min-/2hour- and day average. (link)
If the Tree-view is clicked, i have to configure it myself and for some reasons, i can't make it like the link i give above. How should i configure it to give the same results in tree-view?
2nd thing: 1 WinXP pro box is working now with snmp (just had to install the snmp-protocol and wmi). I did the same with the 2003-boxes here, but it gives an snmp-error when using the "Win2000/XP host"- template. Searched for it on the forums, and found a WinNT-host template, which i tried to use, but no results, and the same error.
Is Win2003 more complex than WinXP? Should i install an extra client or something?
Thanks in advance to help me out of these problems!
Some (newb?) questions

2 more questions:
(1) I've made a cacti account to run the command with php-win.exe, to hide the commandboxes. The problem now is that the cmdboxes (with php-win.exe and snmpwalk.running) stays open, and don't close automaticly. I have to close it myself (sometimes, 40 cmdboxes are open).
This means that my webserver (p3-500, 256MB ram) is running slow after 2-3 running tasks.
/edit: after removing stats from the win2003-boxes (harddrives, physical/virtual memory) the problem seems gone. What could be the problem?
(2) Is it possible to access the graphs without login? I can hotlink the graph_view.php, the only problem is that everyone can change the settings..

1) Manually run php poller.php under the user account you created. Look at the command windows and cacti log file to track down why it's not working. Very likely a permission issue. I suggest you read the guide in my signature.
2) By default, the guest user account lets everyone view the graphs. You might need to give it permissions in User Management | Guest.

I've read the guide, and it's running fine now after i 'deleted' the extra information like harddisk-usage and Physical/Virtual memory. So, i suggest there was a problem with make statistics of these extra 'things', right?BSOD2600 wrote:1) Manually run php poller.php under the user account you created.
