Hello,

I can configure graphs, but they are not show in the tree mode.

I use Suse 9.3 and i install RRD Tool and NET-SNMP with yast.

What i make wrong?

ok,

i installed the apachefriends package:
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-linux.html

but there is a problem with the

Code: Select all

usr/bin/php

PHP Binary Path, so I edit the Path to

Code: Select all

/opt/lampp/bin/php

after the cacti installation I set the host configurations:

but there is an error SNMP not in use below SNMP Information

Are the SNMP Options wrong?

Then I create a new Graph (Host Template).

But there no graphs below the graphs tree:

You need to locate php.... It is needed.

PHP 5.0.5 is correctly installed.

Is the path /opt/lampp/bin correct?

What means SNMP not in use?

Try running 'which php'.

This is the shortcut way to find the php executable as long as it's already in your path. If that doesn't return anything try looking in either /usr/bin or /usr/local/bin. php-5.0.5 is probably a subdirectory of /usr/local/src and will probably not have the php executable within it.

Why cacti show the error message SNMP not in use?

You need to have a functioning path for php.... No ifs ands or buts about it.

As for your "SNMP not in use", that means you don't have an snmp community defined for that host.

Click on the left "device"

Put in your device configuration under "SNMP community" the string "public".
This string (public) is alway the default string for SNMP...

I may be necessary to configure and start snmpd on your host to make this work. Have a look at /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf or the like. Often there are comments inline to show you what to do. You will have to do this for all hosts that you want to query. This is merely an snmp issue, not a cacti one.

The screenshot of the empty tree view also shows that there are 12 rows of data. I bet you are running SQL 5.0, in which case you'll have to install cacti from SVN. Search the forum for that. Else, step back to SQL 4.1 or run SQL 5.0 in 4.1 compatibility mode.
