Question on how to add multiple SNMP counter to graph

Post by RickardL »

Hi,

I'm new to cacti but see great potential with it!

What is the best way to collect multiple SNMP counters and add the to a graph?

For example, say I want to add .1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.7.3.1.18.0 (HTTP Server Get) and .1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.7.3.1.19.0 (HTTP Server Put)
to my graph template.

The lazy way would be to create two Data Templates with input method "Get SNMP Data" but I wonder if there is a better way of doing it?

Could Get SNMP Data (Indexed) be used to collect more than counter?

Best Regards,
Rickard

You could write a script which queried and returned the values to cacti, then you'd have to made a data template and graph template.

You could use two of the 'generic snmp templates', then you'd only have to make a graph template.
