Graphs not showing, and yet they do :(

Post by redeye »

I move my cacti installation onto an new server. Now my graphs arn't showing anymore at the tree. When I click on them I see the graphs. When I zoomin they dissapear :(.

Well, some details. After searching this board I checked my rrdtool installation.

Old server: RRDtool 1.0.49 New server: RRDtool 1.2rc9

I just upgraded to 0.8.6g to use 1.2. When I switch cacti to 1.2 it only getting worse, because no graphs are showing anymore :(

What can i do to save my history and show the graphs again?

If you're going to use rrdtool 1.2, then by all means use the latest release which is 1.2.11.

If you go back to rrdtool 1.0.50, do the graphs work again on the new server? Did you tell cacti what rrdtool version you are using?

Yes, the graphs show when I go back to 1.0.49 (same as my old machine).

rrdtool 1.2 will create rrd files of file type "0003", whereas rrdtool 1.0 uses "0001". You may use the file command "file <your rrd file>" to get that info.
Conversion may be done using "rrdtool dump" using 1.2 and "rrdtool restore" using 1.0
