The first steps would be to download the verions of the templates you want to use and extract them.

You then need to copy the snmp_informant_*.xml files to your <cacti_path>/resource/snmp_queries directory.
Image

Then select Import templates from the console menu. Select the data query you want to import via the browse button, and select the save button.
Image

The next screen will show the import results.
Image

Then select 'Devices' nad the device you which to monitor, at the bottom of this screen you'll see 'Associated data Queries'. Select the query you want to add and select the add button.
Image

If this is successful, you should see
Image

At this point you can select 'Create Graphs for this Host' as the top of this screen.

Select the Data Query you wish to graph, the graph type from the dropdown box, and select create.

That should do it.

All the data queries work, except for disk statistics which debug information is below.

I've tries that, even a reboot of the box.

I managed to fix it.

Although the Data query was avaliable for selection and appeard on the device screen, it did not appear under Collection Methods | Data Queries.

I imported the xml again and it worked.

Its probably because the templates are for a later verison of Cacti.

I'm on 0.8.7b and i can only import the earliest template that has been posted. The current version gives me a hash error.

Is this a new problem in Sp2 ? Because it certainly works in Sp1.
