and if you are interested in picking up development on it i would welcome that.Since I started using the RRD graphing add-on, PNP, with Nagios, I have no longer worked with Cacti as PNP in my opinion is a lot easier to work with .. no maintaining separate users and the graph templates in PNP are just PHP scripts that build out RRD templates, much quicker to create custom graph templates once you are familiar with RRD syntax than the many click process Cacti uses (which is a nicer process for beginners who are not familiar with RRD tool).
For custom RRD-based dashboards I started using
drraw
which lets you set up dashboards easily from RRD graphing sources.
Cacti is a neat project and I enjoyed working with it.
