Hi BSOD2600,
tnx again for your precious work.
I tried your last work in a test environment but find some issue.
First when I login into Cacti in the homepage I find "$url_path = '/cacti/'; " so I tried to comment it in config.php and it disappear (but I have it under config.php in my other test/production environment without this issue).
Also the "Plugin Management" doesn't appear in console-->configuration.
I have no this kind of issue with your previous work (0.8.7g) and the other before.
Any idea? I only have this issue?
Regards
Alessio

1) $url_path = '/cacti/' - I'm not following what the exact problem is. please provide more detail.
2) "Plugin Management". Did you enable this option in the installer? Double-checked plugin management is enabled for your user account?

Hi BSOD2600,
yes I enabled plugin during install.
I get no option about PIA in user management (see image) and also in the image you can see "$url_path = '/cacti/'; " printed.
If I comment this line it disappear however it stay in upper left corner in every page.

Ok probably is a my issue.
I have Cacti in one server and db in another one.....so I select all options except mySQL in the server where cacti resides and in the other one only mySQL so the system doesn't create the table into cacti db.
Is that right?

Not enabling the MySQL option will cause the installer to skip everything MySQL related... installing the binaries, the cacti/pia databases, and configuration.

Re: Windows Installer [Cacti 0.8.7i - 2011-12-21]
hello
i got some confused when installed the latest version on WIN7 today, everything seems ok.
the rrd files could be created, but fail to update.the log output has no evident error:
the cacti was installed on a fat32 file format disk F:
but i had noticed the timestamp is not GMT time or my local time.could be this result in the failure of rrd update?
there also no "ok" shown for the debug output of a releated graph.
thanks

1) Is this a new cacti installation?
2) The rrd files are not getting updated every 5 minutes?
3) If you manually run rrdtool at the command prompt, are there any errors?
4) a lack of "rrdtool says" typically signifies a permission problem on cmd.exe and/or rrdtool.exe, which prevents the Apache service account from executing them.

i had resolved the problem just now.
1. change the permission of cacti folder by granted full permission to "authenticated users" 2.modify the timezone configuration in file of php.ini under php folder.which is
Code: Select all
date.timezone="Asia/Hong_Kong"
change it to my local timezone
3. modify my.ini under mysql folder, add follow code:
Code: Select all
default-time-zone = '+8:00'
then my graph appears again,as i had made a new installtion of version 0.8.7i.

Re: Windows Installer [Cacti 0.8.7i - 2011-12-21]
BSOD2600, When I debug my graphs I don't have anything under RRDTOOL SAYS. Should I?
4) a lack of "rrdtool says" typically signifies a permission problem on cmd.exe and/or rrdtool.exe, which prevents the Apache service account from executing them.
Which brings me to my question which hopefully has a simple answer.
I installed the Windows installer per your instructions about a month ago. Everything was working as should. There was one day that I spent the entire day adding devices and building graphs. Ever since that day, it seems that all of the new devices I added don't graph. The strange thing is I'm still graphing on some of the devices I added several weeks back. So I have a mixture of devices that are graphing and ones that are not. The ones that are not, all have the -1#j in them. I have tried following your debug steps, even adding full control to the cacti folder as well as the RRA folder. All with no luck. I can add more log files if you need them. Please let me know if you or anyone can help. Thanks, Brandon

When you enabled debugging logging on cacti.log, did you see an rrdtool update command issued for wwwroot/cacti/rra/93/463.rrd ? Is the modified date on that file changing every 5 minutes?
You're using IIS, right? Are you sure the security has been properly applied for all the various user accounts? http://docs.cacti.net/manual:087:1_inst ... e_security

Re: Windows Installer [Cacti 0.8.7i - 2011-12-21]
BSOD2600 - Thanks for looking into this. I have gone over your documentation once again to verify permissions. Based on the link in your post I have everything matching up. I took the time again this morning to run debug for 3 consecutive polling cycles. I then took the file and scrubbed it so that it only has the node that isn't graphing. I was able to verify that the date timestamp on the file changes to match the poller interval every 5 min. It matches files that have nodes that are graphing as well.
So hopefully you can pull something out of the debug file that I attached that I don't know what to look for to help me get these to start graphing like the rest.
Thanks, Brandon
