Hello all,

first of all, thanks for the new version of the Cacti Windows Installer.
I've installed a brand-new PC with W7 and installed the IIS.
Afterwards, I've installed Cacti with the latest Windows Installer, but it seems, that the links on the Cacti page (127.0.0.1/cacti) are not working fine...

The original page (127.0.0.1/cacti) is opening fine, but when i try to access "System Utilities" (references to 127.0.0.1/utilities.php) the link can't be found... (HTTP 404).
This happens with all other links in the left table.. only the 3 options (Create devices, Create graphs and View) in the center field are working..

Faced the same issue with Apache2 before installing IIS...
I don't know if this is something wrong in my installation, but I've only installed W7 and nothing more...

Maybe also somebody else faced this issue..

Thanks for your reply,
rauschs

Hello,

First, I would like to thank BSOD2600 for the great work!

Second, I`d like if someone could help me out with my problem: I installed cacti using your installer on several computers and servers (Windows XP and Server 2003 machines), everything is fine except the fact that I am not able to get any graph from cacti :-), all the installations have the same problem.

I attach a printscreen and the installation log

Thanks in advance for the help

Regards,
Stefan

Not an issue with the installer. create a new thread. you have your web server misconfigured. Try http://localhost/cacti/ instead.

Hi,

First of all, like the others I would like to thank you!
Cacti is a software I use for several years now and it's very useful for me!!

Now, I Installed the last windows package this morning on a brand new 2008 R2 SP1, and I never manage to make it
work correctly.
I had only empty graphs, and the rrd files were created but never updated.
I wiped everything et re-installed several times but it never worked

So I installed an old 0.8.7.7 1.95 package which worked for me.

Bye

Until a user assist with troubleshooting what is possible broken with the latest installer, it will never get fixed, as its works as expected in my test VMs.

I had to did it quickly, that's why I used the 1.95, but I can easily mount another 2008 R2 sp1 and test it.
That's the less I could do to thank you.

I'll try to do this in the next few days.

bye

hi BSOD,

i try to upgrade my cacti server with the latest windows installer 0.8.7i.
I want to use the new version of rrdtools, mysql, php and apache include in lateset BSOD installer (thanks for him)

production server config:
Cacti Version 0.8.7i
Plugin Architecture 3.1
Poller Type CMD.php
Server Info Windows NT 5.2
Web Server Apache/2.2.14 (Win32) PHP/5.2.11
PHP Version 5.2.11
MySQL Version 5.0.88-community-nt
RRDTool Version 1.2.30

target server config:Cacti Version 0.8.7i
Plugin Architecture 3.1
Poller Type CMD.php
Server Info Windows NT 5.2
Web Server Apache/2.2.21 (Win32) PHP/5.3.8
PHP Version 5.3.8
MySQL Version 5.5.19
RRDTool Version 1.4.5

the two server are windows 2003 R2 SP2 and it work fine on the actual server
after 0.8.7i installer complete i have export cacti db from old server and import it on the fresh windows install of the new server
all seems good, rra are created but graph doesn't update
i use poller cmd.php and i see a lot of these error when polling:
ERROR: C:\Apache2\htdocs\cacti\rra\device1_bytes_2795.rrd: illegal attempt to update using time 1325560004 when last update time is 1325587028 (minimum one second step)

Is there something wrong in my upgrade process?

Thanks for your support

As there can be so many configuration differences between installations, the Windows installer does NOT support upgrades. If you want to upgrade software versions, you'll have to do it manually.

Your rrdtool update errors appear to be related to the time. did your system time change? also check what time zone is defined in php.ini -- I forget where Cacti pulls the time from.

BSOD,

thanks for your answer.
For your information all of the two server are the same windows installation because they are based on a VM template

In php.ini i'have comment this line: date.timezone="America/Los_Angeles" and rrdtools errors disapears and graphique are now update.
=> So happy !!

I'm facing a last problem with syslog plugin 1.22.
I'm using kiwi syslog daemon in order to to inject syslog message in mysql cacti DB at "syslog_incoming" table
It work because i can see syslog message in the "syslog" table and host in "syslog_host" table (see attachement)
but the plugin http page only show host and never display message according to host coosen or "all hosts" (see attachement)
No SQL errors in cacti log file :-[

Bye,
Best regards

Glad you were able to resolve the error. Issues with plugins need to be addressed by the developer, in this case cigamit. The plugin sub-forum is better suited for this.

BSOD2600:

I've finally find the bug.
The new syslog 1.22 plugin need to have date and time include in syslog message because the display in the web plugin seems to be base on those value.

All work fine with your latest installer 0.8.7i :)

thanks for your support and good continuation.

Is there an alternate download link I can try? I have an FTP server we could use if someone can send me the installer directly.

Must be you/your ISP. I just downloaded it at ~7.5 MB/sec.
