Look in the cacti log file with debugging enable to find the details. is the device pingable? change the ping method to icmp.

I am going through the installation on PHP5.2.5 and it's asking me to select the webserver I wish to setup. Which should I select? I am using IIS on Windows machine. Thanks.

I'd install the latest rrdtool, 1.2.26. It's on the rrdtool site.
