User Management is not available in Version cacti-0.8.7e-1.9
Dear All,
I used cacti-0.8.7b with your Installer, which worked fine.
Now again install your latest version "cacti-0.8.7e-1.931x86".
But it does not provide the User management option available.
When I click on User Management, it shows the php code.
What is the solution of this ??
or Can I get the cacti-0.8.7b installer ?
Where I can get all the old version of your Windows Installer.

silent install is not working
Hi BSOD2600,
Thanks for that wonderful installer,
I tried to use your installer with /S (silent) switch , but using that it only installs php and cacti .. but both are non functional .
I am doing something wrong ? or do you have any guidance for me on how to install silently ?
I am OK with all the default choices, I had installed IIS.
If i do install using GUI method everything works out of box. I need to find a way to do this silently to reproduce it on other locations.
Thanks & Regards,

Thanks & Regards,
I have not configured the installer to function in silent mode -- mostly due to the fact of how configurable it is and all of the potential warnings/errors which are presented to the end user.
I'll think about adding a silent option, but it's a lot of work for piece of software which spend my free time on.

pfaucheur: you issue is the the graph templates you added on, not the installer. please post your support request in the thread where you downloaded the template/scripts.

thanks for this. it really worked good.
nevertheless of course patching is awful with any distribution :-)
and especially on windows *g*
maybe feature request time:
* could you include a precompiled php_rrdtool.dll for php and a php_gd2.dll?
* a good working getif mib repository would be nice
* some sql php and apache performance tuning would also be nice

Yea, I could. I assume there are some plugins which require this? which ones, so I can create the correct installer hooks for them.disorganizer wrote:* could you include a precompiled php_rrdtool.dll for php and a php_gd2.dll?
This is a major PITA, due to hundreds of MIB file conflicts / index issues / etc. If you've taken the time to customize/fix the mib files which come with GetIF, I'd surely consider using them. When doing script development, I just use net-snmp with the -m option and load the vendor MIB(s).disorganizer wrote:* a good working getif mib repository would be nice
What specific settings would you like to get changed for each? There already is some mysql (my.ini) tweaking done.disorganizer wrote:* some sql php and apache performance tuning would also be nice

The ReportIT plugin. It required both the rrdtool php binding and gd2.BSOD2600 wrote:there are some plugins which require this?
agreed. anyways it was hard to find out getif uses the /usr/mibs instead of its own dir.BSOD2600 wrote:This is a major PITA
anyways, if i remember correctly your installation points the mibs variable to /php/extra/mibs. but imho it should point to /usr/mibs (if i remember correctly i had to change this for one plugin to work).
main reason for this is that the mib files in fact reside in /usr/mibs in your installation rather than /php/extra/mibs :-)
Good question. Maybe a mysql specialist could create a good average set of tweaks. I used the tweaks from the "Huge installation" thread (not the boost plugin and ram-db).BSOD2600 wrote:What specific settings would you like to get changed for each? I also used the database indexing tips there which imho improved responsiveness of the gui a lot :-)
but anyways i am rather thankful for your installer as it gave me a good baseline and a fast first installation :-)
edit:
forget my edit. i was just not rtfm
