Sounds like a pK violation. Something wrong in the design?

A possible bug

Post by Supercoco »

A possible bug:

The 'alert' field is defined as 'tinyint' while the 'id' of the rules is defined as 'int'. This causes that the rules can not be applied correctly when the 'id' of the rule is 128 or higher.

Open Office with CaMM

Post by ayinger »

Has anyone successfully utilized the "Export to Excel" feature with Open Office? If not, is there a way to simply export to a csv file, and then open it in OO? Even a right-click "Save-As" would help us.

To anyone using Linux and CaMM: What solution worked for you for exportation?

It is already fixed in 1.6.51 version in first post.

Try this:
1. Save file to computer.
2. Rename it from xxxxx.XLS to xxxxx.XML
3. Open it in any text processor and change in start of document
from

Code: Select all

<xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8">
to

Code: Select all

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
4. Save and try to open in OO Calc (I tested in OO 3.2 on Win)

let me know if this will help - I'll change scripts.

First off, this is a great plugin. Thank you for all your hard work.

I have installed CaMM and I'm using rsyslog. Everything seems to work great, however when I try to use DNS names I only see some of the devices in the left hand menu. When I switch to IP's I see all of my devices.

When using DNS names it shows some of the device groups under the ALL setting and others under the HOUR setting.

I looked through the posts on this page, didn't see anything about this problem, any clues as to what could be the issue?

Thanks

fedcor, What do you use in the device settings Cacti in the field Hostname for all devices? Fully qualified hostname or IP address for this device ? Or so and so?

Then what's the problem?

I don't think I'm expaining this correctly.

In Camm when I set the Join Field Name setting to IP-address, I get all my devices showing up in the Camm lefthand menu under Period:All.

In Camm when I set the Join Field Name setting to DNS-hostname, I get some devices show up in the lefthand menu under Period:All and some in the Period:Hour.

My quesiton/problem is when using Join Field Name as DNS-hostname, why does the lefthand menu not show all of my devices under the Period:All

As for the Cacti Device, I use IP address in the hostname filed,

When I'm using Join Field Name setting to DNS-hostname the IP isn't shown, the Description field shows up in the Lefthand Menu.

Is that normal?

fedcor, Yes, all right. If you are using IP in hostname's then use ip in "Join field name". In the settings you can specify for which periods to classify statistics.

Hi,
I think the "cacti-team" has written a beta of the old syslog-plugin - with partitioning in use.
Is this on your plan to use it in the next version?
