Solution if cactid isn't runnig on Win32 machines

well that one is fine. Search your computer for other copies of that file... you must have another one somewhere because that error you're getting only happens when you use a name instead of an IP.

That shouldn't make a difference if you alraedy have the Cygwin dlls in the cactid directory.

What if you try something besides 127.0.0.1, like the physical IP? Also, what version of MySQL are you running? Please post results.
