Solution if cactid isn't runnig on Win32 machines

well that one is fine. Search your computer for other copies of that file... you must have another one somewhere because that error you're getting only happens when you use a name instead of an IP.

I searched all the drives and deleted the one backup I had but it still is giving me the same error. Should I install Cygwin and see if that helps?

That shouldn't make a difference if you alraedy have the Cygwin dlls in the cactid directory.

I'm stumped. You'll need to get TheWitness to help out since cactid is his baby.

There is only one DLL in the cactid directory (cygwin1.dll)... should there be more?

What if you try something besides 127.0.0.1, like the physical IP? Also, what version of MySQL are you running? Please post results.

Please tell me what directory your cactid.exe is in and also what directory your cactid.conf file is in? Please post your cactid.conf file...

Where is Cacti installed? When you run cactid, are you doing it from the cactid directory? Did you compile Cactid yourself? Do you have Cygwin installed?

I thought it was not needed when you have the dll from the Windows zip? but yeah I will install it.
