I assume you meant Use defaults for this installation (Recommended) when importing.

I imported with no change to the graphs behavior, debug :

RRDTool Command:

/usr/bin/rrdtool graph - \
--imgformat=PNG \
--start=-86400 \
--end=-300 \
--title=" xxx - Traffic - Gi4/1 - xxx" \
--rigid \
--base=1000 \
--height=120 \
--width=500 \
--alt-autoscale-max \
--lower-limit=0 \
--vertical-label="bits per second" \
--slope-mode \
--font TITLE:10: \
--font AXIS:8: \
--font LEGEND:8: \
--font UNIT:8: \
DEF:a="/da01/cacti/rra/xxx_traffic_in_23533.rrd":traffic_in:AVERAGE \
DEF:b="/da01/cacti/rra/xxx_traffic_in_23533.rrd":traffic_out:AVERAGE \
CDEF:cdefa=a,8,* \
CDEF:cdefe=b,8,* \
AREA:cdefa#00CF00FF:"Inbound" \
GPRINT:cdefa:LAST:" Current\:%8.2lf %s" \
GPRINT:cdefa:AVERAGE:"Average\:%8.2lf %s" \
GPRINT:cdefa:MAX:"Maximum\:%8.2lf %s\n" \
LINE1:cdefe#002A97FF:"Outbound" \
GPRINT:cdefe:LAST:"Current\:%8.2lf %s" \
GPRINT:cdefe:AVERAGE:"Average\:%8.2lf %s" \
GPRINT:cdefe:MAX:"Maximum\:%8.2lf %s"

RRDTool Says:

OK

There's no change to the interface yearly graph (as attached), it displays the same averaged details. Apologies for the gaps, I don't run my test box all the time.

Hm, am I right in saying I can't see your new CDEF in there? What went wrong? It has imported.

I'm sorry, but I suppose that this discussion is pointless now. I fear that my explanation is not good enough for you to be able to correct the error. Or I simply made a mistake. Any chance for direct access to your system to correct the error? If yes, please pm details

Not easily no.

This isn't an error with my cacti though, it's an error with how Cacti is displaying yearly data period!

We have to make changes in 088. We can accomadate this then.

I apologize for replying on this old thread but I'm seeing the same type max data errors that user ben_c shows a few posts above where he knows that he hits some maximum value but the month/yearly graphs do not show this maximum value. I am currently running CactiEZ distribution with Cacti running at Version 0.8.8b. The preceding developer post mentions this would be fixed in 8.8 and I was wondering if this issue had ever been dealt with.

thanks,
Keith
