So if I select 20 data datasources, skip the parts I don't need and aggregate, it still adds a field in for each under datasource that reads usually (traffic_out):device_name for instance. That in turn, adds 20 ledgend items for those names. Which you may not want, so I have to go in to each 20 items individually and blank out the title field box to remove it's ledgend text.
I suppose I know what your aiming at, now. That is, you want to delete the complete legend line. Currently, it's only possible to skip a GPRINT related legend entry, not an AREA/STACK/LINE related legend entry.
If you provide me with an idea how to build up the GUI for such a feature, I will consider implementing it
Reinhard
Just a check box to 'remove all ledgend entries' or something similar would be handy.

I am curious how people have managed to get the 95% working on aggregated graphs. I aggregated 4 graphs, but once I went to the created graph and tried to add the items for the 95% lines. Considering that there are 4 graph items, there isn't one data source for that information.

What am I doing wrong?

Aggregate 0.65 + PIA 2.1, on a non-fresh Cacti 0.8.7b

sfinc wrote:After that, it showed up as installed anyway. I have added the $plugins[] = 'aggregate'; line to include/global.php, and can see the "Color Templates" entry on the menu. Just nothing about creating the aggregate graphs.
I seem to have a similar (but not exactly similar issue).
I've upgraded Cacti several times (debian lenny) over the past year and something, and now I have 0.8.7b.
I've tried to install on it (not a fresh Cacti install) the PIA 2.1. Had quite some errors, but I fixed all of them, and now I'm using the php files included with the PIA after some modifications.

I also added aggregate to the global.php file, but it doesn't seem to show anywhere.
I don't see anything in my console that allows me to enable plugins. (This is how it is supposed to be as I understand from the docs... in much older PIA and Aggregate installs it didn't include all that and editing config.php was enough).

Any idea how I should proceed from here to have the plugin installed?

Thanks,

Please select admin account from User Management. Enable Plugin Managementfirst. Then, a new Configuration item named Plugin Management is visible. Select "uninstalled" tab to find AGGREGATE. Install. Switch to "installed" tab. Enable. That's it

Please add aggregate to the list of plugins at include/global.php and retry

I've done that; I must have re-checked that line 10 times when trying to get to the bottom of this issue. The errors still occur.

Is there anywhere to download previous versions of the PIA? I keep thinking it might work better if I had 2.0 rather than 2.1. The cactiusers site does not appear to make any attempt to maintain older versions of its software.

Please post a "ls -l ./plugins" from cacti main directory. There's a known issue with specific directory names, e.g. containing a "-"

I'm already at PIA2.2 beta with some patches. So please try replacing lib/plugins.php by the unzipped attachment

Can't see plugin

Post by st3rling »

I still don't see the plugin. What am I doing wrong? I did restart apache service several times. Here is my global.php file in include folder. I also tried to replace plugins.php in lib folder with the one above my post. Thank you for any help!

NEVERMIND. I found link to create aggregate graph under drop down "choose an action:" box.
And thank you for the great plugin which make newbie's life like myself much easier :).

I tried the new plugins.php... no change to the problem.

Thanks for your help so far, but I think I'm ready to call it quits and go back to vanilla Cacti. I'll check back in a few versions' time when hopefully aggregate and the PIA are a bit more robust. In its current form, I tend to interpret the PIA acronym with a second, less polite definition..

From what I understand about the aggregate plug-in's functionality though (not speaking from experience since I can't get it to work..!), it's something I hope will be integrated directly into Cacti at some stage.

PIA will be integrated into cacti with next main release. This iwll reduce compatibility and upgrade issues to a great extend. And, yes, the code is already in SVN!
