Here is a map of our Nexus switches... idea is that it should all be grey/green, if there is red then there is a problem. It shows, CPU load, temperatures, PSU and fan status. Then for the interfaces, grey for not in use, green for link up and red for enabled but link down.
Make a copy of your map, set this mode, let the poller run and that's it, it'll replace most of the sensitive labels with XXXX.

May I know which version of both Cacti and Weathermap plugin are you using?
I'm currently trying 1.1.2 which is ( I just figured out ) still not working with weathermap ( waiting updates from the maintainer )

Current git of database-refactor is working with Cacti 1.x but not for production environment I'd say. Didn't test it with 1.1.2 yet but currently working with 1.1.1

My ancient 3560 switches using NINK for interface status. I set the 0 0 range to black to show interfaces with zero traffic as "disconnected" - connected switches show bandwidth. Weathermap is the cleverest use of Cacti I've seen! Thanks Howie.
