Try using "BWSTYLE angled" and change BWFONT to be a freetype font. This keeps the bandwidth number 'inside' the arrow...

Code: Select all

FONTDEFINE 40 GillSansItalic 8

Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

Here you go, I made some changes to protect the innocent hopefully didn't break anything. You would need to find and download from web font files I have used to make it look nice. Name files are in config..
Share your make once you make it I'm curious to see what others have done.

I registered an account just to show off this example of a map I'm making to show how we're monitoring our environment to our leadership and community. My plan is to have this (and others) on a loop on display in our data processing and tech services buildings. I appreciate the motivation I've received from looking at your examples; my first pass at this map was a shambles, and after seeing what could be done I re-did it like this. I'm happy with how it looks and how easy it is to explain to non-techs what it shows.

This is a great map, thanks for sharing. If I can ask a favor; I love your scale gradients, would you be willing to share? I feel that my maps are a little ugly because of my scale colors.

Thanks!

Here is a simple one I created for a client. After making that many node entries, I swore I was going to make a script to completely automate it all.

For that specific kind of diagram, there is already a script in the weathermap/random-bits folder called 'bristle' that generates them :-)

Also, the next version, has named offsets, which are not fully fleshed out yet, but allows you to define port locations *once* in the template for a switch:

Code: Select all

NODE switch_type1
        LABEL {node:this:name}
        LABELFONT 40
        ICON cisco-2960.png
        LABELOFFSET C
        DEFINEOFFSET port1 -32 -32
        DEFINEOFFSET port2 32 -32
        DEFINEOFFSET port3 -32 32
        DEFINEOFFSET port4 32 32

NODE sw1
        TEMPLATE switch_type1
        LABEL
        POSITION 80 80

NODE sw2
        TEMPLATE switch_type1
        LABEL
        POSITION 280 80

LINK l2
        NODES sw1:port4 sw2:port1
The named offset can be used for link endpoints and also for the positions of subnodes, so you can easily overlay those little red/yellow/green port images.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.

@JJx, I think keystyle will change the size of the legend. I have only used it for inverting my legends.
