My graphs are now working. Not certain if its the oid_index or the oid_index_parse ... but I'm running 9.3.1 on my LTM's and it works now.
I changed the oid_index_parse in both the ifstats.xml and vs.xml by +1-ing the original number in it, which worked great. Pick a fix.

Trying to use the V7 template and I'm getting a lot of these errors. Also tried the above post with no luck.
Have Cacti 8.7d on centOS4.5 snmp 5.4
I installed all 4 of the latest patches.
When I try to graph the VS Connections, I am getting the following:

See if you get the error with the cmd.php poller or spine 0.8.7d (released today).

I had to switch to spine since it was taking too long to run cmd.php. I looked on the spine download page but it still shows 0.8.7c.

Ah thanks. Upgraded to latest spine now, but still getting the error.

I am having problems with some of the data queries...

For example, when I run the F5 BigIP - TMM CPU Statistics query in debug mode I get the following, with no entries returned.

+ Running data query [26].
+ Found type = '3' [snmp query].
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/f5_BigIP-sysTmmStat.xml'
+ XML file parsed ok.
+ Executing SNMP walk for list of indexes @ '.1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.1.8.2.2'
+ No SNMP data returned
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/f5_BigIP-sysTmmStat.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/f5_BigIP-sysTmmStat.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/f5_BigIP-sysTmmStat.xml

I am running Cacti/Spine 0.8.7d

Any ideas?

SNMPWALK .1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.1.8.2.2 -- it's possible your F5 doesn't have that feature or enabled.

Blast!

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.3375.2.1.8.2.2 = No Such Object available on this agent at this OID

I wonder why thats not responding. Im running 9.3 on the LTM.

Problems with Templates not creating pollers

Post by malaki_csh »

Hi,
So I have been working with this for a week or so here and I am running into some problems with some of the data queries. I think if I can figure out how to fix one I can fix the others.

Let me start with the system cpu environmental stats.

I have the xml and it is working fine for everything but temperature. With Fan speed it is working perfectly. The debug from the data source output is below:

+ Running data query [17].
+ Found type = '3' [snmp query].
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/html/resource/snmp_queries/f5_BigIP-sysCPU.xml'
+ XML file parsed ok.
+ Executing SNMP walk for list of indexes @ '.1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.1.3.2.3.2.1.1'
+ Index found at OID: '1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.1.3.2.3.2.1.1.101' value: '101'
+ Located input field 'sysCpuIndex' [walk]
+ Executing SNMP walk for data @ '.1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.1.3.1.2.1.1'
+ Found item [sysCpuIndex='1'] index: 1 [from value]
+ Found item [sysCpuIndex='2'] index: 2 [from value]
+ Located input field 'sysCpuName' [walk]
+ Executing SNMP walk for data @ '.1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.1.3.1.2.1.4'
+ Found item [sysCpuName='cpu1'] index: 1 [from value]
+ Found item [sysCpuName='cpu2'] index: 2 [from value]
+ Located input field 'sysCpuSlot' [walk]
+ Executing SNMP walk for data @ '.1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.1.3.1.2.1.5'
+ Found item [sysCpuSlot='0'] index: 1 [from value]
+ Found item [sysCpuSlot='0'] index: 2 [from value]
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/html/resource/snmp_queries/f5_BigIP-sysCPU.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/html/resource/snmp_queries/f5_BigIP-sysCPU.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/html/resource/snmp_queries/f5_BigIP-sysCPU.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/html/resource/snmp_queries/f5_BigIP-sysCPU.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/var/www/html/resource/snmp_queries/f5_BigIP-sysCPU.xml'

As you can see the last few varaibles are simply found data query. These are some of the varaibles that are not created.

If I use snmpwalk I do get the data:

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.3375.2.1.3.1.2.1.2.1 = INTEGER: 33
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.3375.2.1.3.1.2.1.2.2 = INTEGER: 36

So I have communication and connectivity.

In diging into this I found that the poller_item database is not getting the temperature entries at all though it is getting the fan entries:

I can manualy add the lines to the MySql database but this is not optimal.

Does anyone have any ideas why the xml is not creating the poller entries when I creaate the graphs?

Hello,

I installed this plugin for my BigIPs, it works pretty well.

I have two questions:
- I graph "VS connections" for all my virtual servers. I see two lines for each graph : "Max connections" with current, average, max and "Connections" with current, average, max.

What does this mean ? What's the max of "max connections" (or average or current) ? Why is it different from the max of "Connections" ? I would understand if there were only the second line, but I don't understand "Max connections" line.

- second question: why don't you round the values to integers ? Managers always ask "what does 0.994m connection means" or "what does 34.8 for a max connection number means" ? Is there a reason for this ?

Thanks a lot !

1) it's a script, not plugin. Big difference.
2) MAX simply refers to the maximum/largest number of data points for that specific time span.
3) for the m thing, read http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=8168

1) ok
2) it doesn't answer my question
3) I know that but it doesn' explain we had a maximum number of 34.8 (or 600m) connections.

Both of your questions can be addressed by reading the RRDTOOL manual, since that is what is doing the graphing. Once you have a grasp how rrdtool functions, your questions should be answered.

Post by zizou.net »

I'd like to use an production version of my cacti so i plan to used an ubuntu LTS ( long Term Support) so the cacti version in the box is
0.8.7b

so i try to use the template for the BIG IP with this système : BIG-IP 9.4.7 Build 320.1 Final

but when i try the one in the top of this page All i have is 'Nan' (not a number) in my graph'
