Need help, I almost have Cacti installed

I checked the my.cnf file and it was correct:

# The following options will be passed to all MySQL clients
[client]
#password = your_password
port = 3306
socket = /tmp/mysql.sock

Didn't I point out above that you should change that?

You were right, I edited that file. Problem is fixed. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I read your post. I guess it went in through the eyes and right out the ears.
