Well - I figured you meant the patches from http://www.cacti.net/download_patches.php so I've tried to install them... but no everything looks broken:

Did you apply the patches with wget and patch? If so, the security has been reset on the files it patched. You must repush the security down to the files.

No I don't have "patch"... I copied them direct from http://www.cacti.net/downloads/patches/ ... e-patched/

I've recovered from a zip-backup I made before... All is well now.

I'll experiment a bit again..

Do you do IM? Is your system accessible from the Internet?

I've now tried this against 5 PCS. And it hangs against each one.

On working on another issue, I've also found it hang when polling SNMP CPU against a Cajun P580.

I've been overloaded at work this week. Hopefully the situation will be better next week. Do you want to schedule a day/time to look at this?

Heres a sample snmpwalk from a windows client if it helps. What OID does SNMP Processor Info search for ?

HostResources MIB, which I did not find in your walk. This would happend if you either have another snmp agent installed or do you have windows NT or your 2000/XP/2003 SNMP settings are configured to not show the HostMib.

it should be a standard ms snmp daemon, so should that include HostResources (w2k server) ?

I have seen that if I go to the snmp daemon, i can select different Services on the Agent, but I've left these on the default. What should they be ?

I am not familiar with the 2003 MIBS. My expectation is that if you check all the boxes, you should get lot's of information. With the standard net-snmp install a "snmpbulkwalk -v 2c -c public localhost" should be quite enlightening.

Hmm.. Well I tried adding all the agents, stopping/starting the service but still no dice. Attached is a s/shot of the agent - this is the standard agent that comes with 2000 (not a 2003 server). And the output from the bulkwalk.

I also just tried replacing microsofts agent with net-snmp, but cacti still locks up against that agent too.
