I wondered if a new data query would sort the problem by query'ing the indexes better - but from the snmpwalk output I don't see a problem to solve with it...

Sorted it. It was something in the interfaces.xml under the data query.
I picked through the oid's & found the Name & Alias fields pointed at parts of the mib that the router doesn't respond to. When I ran snmpwalk on each oid it showed that horrid "End of MIB" string. I create a new Data Query and changed those two entries to point to the ifName field - it all burst into live after that.
