No that is the only referende for exchange, I just cleared the log and let it run for 15 minutes and nothing for exchange came up?

You replied earlier that I should check data queries, but if I check data queries from the start page, there are only the original data queries like Karlnet Netware en SNMP etc. no exchange specific stuf. Do I miss something essential?

BTW. I realy appriciate your help.

This is weird, I haven't seen this with any scripts...I have this problem with any new SNMP devices (switches) I add to my cacti install -- everything looks good, but the device never gets checked therefore is in an invalid interim step and never gets queried.

Ok, let's start from the beginning.
- Check that you have a "Data Input Method" for it, should be named "Exchange - Information Store Statistics" and that it has one input field (hostname) and two output fields (ActiveUserCount and UserCount) and the input string looks like

Code: Select all

perl <path_cacti>/scripts/w32_exch_query_isstats.pl <hostname> get ActiveUserCount,UserCount
- Check that you have a "Data Template", should be named "Exchange - I.S. Stats" and that you have two data source items in it.
- Check the "Graph Template", should be named "Exchange - Connections". For each graph template item in the graph template, that data source should say something other than "(No Task) ...". It's rather easy to completely recreate this graph, or fix the items if they're messed up. I would almost delete both "Graph Item Inputs" of data sources from the graph and then click each "Item" above it and reassociate the Data Source by slecting "Exchange - I.S. Stats - (count_active_users)" and "Exchange - I.S. Stats - (count_users)" respectively.

Other than that, I really don't know especially if you can run it manually from the command line and get the right responses. I ended up giving "Everyone" full access to the RRA directory because of some weird permissions stuff I have setup.

I checked it all out, from the commandline I get the values back for users and active users. I think I am gonna start all over on a new installed server and fresh set of rights, I have done so many changes on my test laptop now that I think it is wiser to start from scratch. I will let you know how I am getting along.

I changed my data source string to that listed above and now everything is working. I'm not sure if that helps but it helped with my installation.

@ that_kid, could you be a little more specific about your changes, I do not understand what you have specifically changed.

Under Data input Methods I selected Exchange - Information Store statistics and changed my input string from "perl lt;path_cactigt;/scripts/w32_exch_query_isstats.pl lt;hostnamegt; get ActiveUserCount,UserCount" which it was originally to "perl <path_cacti>/scripts/w32_exch_query_isstats.pl <hostname> get ActiveUserCount,UserCount". I then deleted the graph I had and added the graph again for this exchange and after about ten minutes I had a graph with data. I hope this helps.

No problem, wish I could help more but I'm very new to cacti myself so I'm still on the learning curve.
