addlema: the problem may be with the source email address; what email address do your other scripts use? This will default to the local user that is running the cron job, along with the local domain. If this is not valid, your mailserver may not be allowing you to relay out (or there are other restrictions on your relay server).

ppollet73: What version of PHP are you using?

Thanks for your answer. In fact I'd like to see the device description in the mail subject, instead of the device ID.

Everytime It tries to send email I get:

But i can send email just fine from everywhere else including other PHP Scripts...

Aparently inidana.edu is not a valid domain... It may have something to do with it...

Re: Thold 2.1a - Thresholding/Alerting module for cacti 8.6

Post by addlema »

adesimone wrote:This is the new version of THold -

I has most of the features that have been requested & more (thanks to the contributions of Ranko)

This version supports any kind of RRD including counter & gauge. It should be platform independent, but has not been tested.

This version is not back-ward compatible with previous versions.

Feature summary:
- static threshold alerting
- host up/down alerting
- alerts via email/syslog

New features:
- baseline/dynamic threshold alerting
- high/low thresholding
- per-thold vs. global settings for alerting, baselineing, and others
- re-alerting cycles
- weekend alerting/polling exemption
- per-device auto-threshold building
& alot more

Any feedback is welcome.
I gotta ask.. What more do you guys plan on developing for this? I hope Ian decides to intergrate this as it is a great addition!

I quick addon would be to allow us to change a From field. so instead of Root we could make it say Cacti Mon.. I have done this with my install.

Thresholds monitoring - yes.
Dead hosts notifications - no (at least from what it looks from the code - not tested)

Nevermind above. Fixed it.

Debian have a defaultsetting of

php_flag short_open_tag Off

... for cacti.

Thanks anyway :) Nice product.

decimal threshold

Post by vluce »

Congratulation for this module. It is very usefull.

I did not manage to enter decimal thershold :

I'd like to receive an alert when the load average is above 0.8 but 0.8 is replace by 0 as soon as I press save button in threshold management window.

Is it a known limitation of this add on ?

FYI, cacti only uses long tags... Example:

Code: Select all

<?php ?>
Tony Roman
Experience is what causes a person to make new mistakes instead of old ones.
There are only 3 way to complete a project: Good, Fast or Cheap, pick two.
With age comes wisdom, what you choose to do with it determines whether or not you are wise.

vluce: you are better off rounding up / down your thresholds because check-thold.php will do so when extracting the values from the rrd files.

royce, how did you fix it?
My php also uses

Code: Select all

php_flag short_open_tag Off
but I can't switch it on because of my other applications.
I tried to edit file graph_thold.php including in some places full tags, but nothing changed.

Anybody else succeeded in it?
