Roddie,

This is being caused by a Segfault. We need to find where it is segfaulting. I will research. Do you have any hosts with a blank community string?

Yes. See if that corrects the problem and then provide feedback.

[quote="roddie"]Larry,

I think I've been seeing a similar issue with cactid 0.8.6c through e.

See: http://forums.cacti.net/about6216.html

It's always the script_server process that seems hung. When I kill the processes, I get this in my cacti.log:

Code: Select all

02/01/2005 06:33:11 AM - PHPSVR: Poller[0] ERROR: Input Expected, Script Server Terminating

yes. we have similar situaution. But hung cactid process - PHPSVR was terminating because cactid was killed.

Roddie,

I have reviewed the section of code that I thought might have been causing the issues and found that the changes I made were in fact correct. If it turns out that your system runs clean till tomorrow, I would evaluate each of the scripts for proper execution.

There are issues with out of the box scripts on Solaris.

Roddie, do you have IM or access to NetMeeting in order to debug?

Ok, it's solaris.... 8/9...

What version of php are you each running. Ev sent me a log, the PHP script server seems to be crashing and exiting or not exiting, hard to tell. I have forwarded your log to TheWitness, we have been discussing it.

Roddie,

I have reviewed your database and found an interesting host:

"P2CAT2 Interfed 5509"

Could you please delete it and see if the problem abates?

Thread Safety will be effective, when apache have mod_worker (it's multithread) - but this mode has some problems in PHP (http://simon.incutio.com/archive/2004/0 ... AndApache2)

default mod_prefork is not multithread . =>> PHP module (& perl) is not multithread .

isn't it ?

If you don't have GDB, you should get it. Otherwise, utilize STRACE to debug Cactid and see where the Segfault is taking place.
