hmm maybe something else related to the parsing has changed?

Example:
Back in 2009 when I created http://docs.cacti.net/howto:data_query_ ... s_a_string I used a similar regex which worked as desired. No, I dont have access to that same device now to valid if the same output is functional or broken... but given the examples from the OP and the bug, I would think not.

Try this regexp to fix this:

^\.{0,1}.{27,28}\.\d+\.(.*)

This appears to be working -- thank you!
