The situation is just going downhill...

As I continue to play with it, now I'm only getting the following in the log files:

Code: Select all

09/30/2004 07:39:58 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] Maximum runtime of 296 seconds exceeded. Exiting.
09/30/2004 07:40:01 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] DEBUG: About to Spawn a Remote Process [CMD: c:/auntie/cacti/, ARGS: 0 4]
09/30/2004 07:40:01 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] DEBUG: About to Spawn a Remote Process [CMD: c:/auntie/cacti/, ARGS: 5 8]
09/30/2004 07:44:58 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] Maximum runtime of 296 seconds exceeded. Exiting.
Meanwhile, this is what is being displayed on the DOS window open:

Code: Select all

Waiting on 2/2 pollers.
Waiting on 2/2 pollers.
Waiting on 2/2 pollers.
How to I find out what the pollers are waiting for and timing out on? I've already set it to full debug logging.

Think I found the fix for myself...

When I had installed the PHP update, I used the php.ini-recommended instead of the php.ini.dist file. I looked at the two between winmerge and the differences didnt appear to be that major... just a few things with security and performance. I just started to use php.ini.dist again and right away, I was getting the OK messages from rrdtool.

PHP SafeMode must be off.

Yes, php.ini. You must also set an environment variable "PHPRC=c:\php\php.ini" I think it might just be "C:\PHP". Look over the documentation. In addition, you will need to verify that there are no remnants of PHP in your Windoz directory.

My original ev was PHPRC=c:\php
after changing it to
PHPRC=c:\php\php.ini
caused the root problem which was unable to start the cacti saying undefined function.... at line 323 then i had to restard to system twice, one to see the change effect and secord for restoring.

i also found in the settings->paths-cactid (binary path)
earlier it was blank then changed to c:\cactid
still not working for me, may be i need another restart

bye
