The problem with Debian, in the past, is that it is a very good package, but modifies the default file locations, so there will always be that gotcha possible. And with Ubuntu ruling the desktop world these days, it causes problems here.
The best solution would be to release 0.8.8 sooner than later... This is my new years resolution.

True understanding begins only when we realize how little we truly understand...
if using apt, then the default locations changes don't matter much.
If using apt to install, this would work for debian as well or any distro that can use apt.
Just need to put in different distro names & package sources in the apt configuration.
