Not claiming to be an expert but to me it looks like the magic number is 512. Value in Thold x 8 x 8 x 8 (512) will give you the value in bits.

Re: THold current values still a mystery
I'm new to cacti and my knowledge about it and linux itself are not that great.
I'm having a problem with my current value, let me try to explain:
I'm monitoring my traffic.
My first alert, the current value was a bit strange but i manage to understand it and configure properly.
Now any new alert i create is not displaying any value in "current value", even a different graphic in the same device.
I enabled Threshold Daemon but still not working.
I searched a lot in forum but couldn't find any fix.
I'm using Cacti 1.0.4 and thold 1.0.1
I will appreciate any help i can get

I know this is going to sound wrong.. but in settings under the thresholds tab UNcheck "Enable Threshold Daemon". I found this solution on github from the developers of the plugin. None of my thresholds would show current value until after I did that. Hope this helps.
