Hi,
Both poller and rrdtool have proper value
12/16/2008 10:20:00 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[85] DS[825] SNMP: v1: CISCO-AP01, dsname: ActiveAssociations, oid: .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.273.1.1.2.1.1.1, output: 4
12/16/2008 10:20:01 AM - POLLER: Poller[0] CACTI2RRD: c:/rrdtool/rrdtool.exe update C:\cacti\rra\cisco-ap01_aironet_1242ag_activeassociations_825.rrd --template ActiveAssociations 1229422800:4
But only first update after rrd file being created works fine.
I have just spot one difference between first rrdtool update and any others:
First one uses N as time stump and all others use number time stump like 1229422800
When I do rrdtool update with time stump it update file properlly.
I don't understand that behavior at all.
??
RRDToold doesn't update RRD files

I have just notice that rrd tool update rrd file if that one was updated quite recently (like 1min ago). So when I manually update rrd file minute before scheduled task runs rrdtool will update rrd file properly- why?
So I have change scheduled task from 5min to every 1 min and it works now (at least for last 5 min, ro that one device I have now).
Any idea why?

Did you start out with devices using a 1 min polling resolution and then change it back to 5 min? Once the rrd file has been created for a certain polling time window, it cannot be changed to something else without being recreated. It sounds like this is what happened.CichyAcz wrote:So I have change scheduled task from 5min to every 1 min and it works now (at least for last 5 min, ro that one device I have now).

Apparently server I have copied rrd files from (just to keep history of monitoring) is set to 5 min polling window and I started from 5min as well – and it didn’t work. I have changed polling window to 1 min on new server and copied rrd files from old server and for some reason it work.
I have tried run cacti on new server using both new rrd file and with copied, but 5min polling window doesn’t work – on the other hand 1min window works both with new rrd files and old ones. Additionally need to remember that update of rrd files didn’t work only for some devices (and it still works with 1min polling window even I haven’t recreated rrd files).
Is there any way I can create rrd files specifically for 5min polling window (manually)?
Regards,

If you delete (or rename) the rrd file you want recreated, cacti will automatically do it for you once it notices the file does not exist.CichyAcz wrote:Is there any way I can create rrd files specifically for 5min polling window (manually)?
As for your 5 min vs 1 min polling issue... no idea. think some info is missing. Bottom line though, is that if a rrd file is created with 1 min or 5 min polling, it will not work for any other polling interval.
