Installing Cactiez on Dell Optiplex 280 fails

ok also i just tried my new cd and still get the same error

ok tried it on 3 more comps. different models and still get the same error. Also tried it in vmware and the same error

Sounds like there's something wrong with the source ISO.

I stopped using the CactiEZ myself and did an install of CentOS 5.1 and installed everything fresh.

how does that work. do i download centos and install cacti or...

download CentOS 5.2 (It's 5 disks). while it's downloading. Read this: http://docs.cacti.net/node/441

that should tell you everything you need to install during your installation of CentOS, you'll then need to go out and get RRDtool and install it.

ok i downloaded it again and it installed! Yay i do have a question. How do i put in new templates into cactiez. Also rrd files. Im trying to get the ip statistics to work so i can monitor the ethernet on servers but rrd file doesnt exist. I need a template for my firewall so i can monitor the traffic but dont have the option to monitor it.

There's an import/export section in the console that allows you to import templates that you download from the scripts/templates forum.

If your firewall doesn't already have a template made for it, you'll have to make one yourself. There's lots of information in the documenation section at the top of the forums here on how to do that.
