How to monitor Juniper Netscreen Firewall???
Moderators: Developers, Moderators
I don't know for sure, but the web page could be reporting the current number of sessions open, while the SNMP report could be the total sessions that have been opened since the firewall was last rebooted. The way to tell is if the value returned is of type counter32, or integer32 (or something like that). A counter is assumed to always go up, so the difference between the last collected value and the current one will tell you how many sessions were opened in that time frame; while a gauge (the integer value) is an absolute number of how many sessions are open currently.
