CaMM (Cacti Message Management) plugin v1.6.7 2010-08-26

Hey,

Great plugin! Just converted from the old snmptt to camm and one thing that I don't seem to have right is the syslog database seems to have the host field populated with "INVALID PROPERTY NAME". The snmptt part is working but I can't figure this out. It may have to do with the fact that I am using rsyslog but it is populating the database.

Any idea or thoughts?

The schema definition is contained in the file "createDB.sql". It comes with the rsyslog package. Review it to check that the database name is acceptable for you. Be sure to leave the table and field names unmodified, because otherwise you need to customize rsyslogd's default sql template, which we do not do in this paper. Then, run the script with your favourite MySQL tool. Double-check that the table was successfully created.

Soo I need you createDB.sql file and "rsyslogd's default sql template" to help you, because I don't have rsyslog.

I figured it out. I was using a bad %HOSTNAME% definition ...

Now I use your plugin in a production environment and I think that this is one of the best plugin I have ever seen.
It does the work and have also a great gui layout and a lot of useful function like rule!!!!
Do you plane to add some extra feature like top message, top device per day/week/month so it is possible to easily debug device that have problem and also is easily find message that are not useful and waste the db.

In particular, I am looking for the SYSLOG graphs..

After 4 days of working out I have found a problem!!!!
Can you test it ? And now I update all stats graphs.

Seems ok so far - and the purging of records works !! Fantastic...

I'm going to test the templates tomorrow.

Hmm - one thing I have noticed is that since the new version went in, entries like

Seem to be missing, although the SYSLOGS are still updating. Perhaps a coding issue ? The last entry I had was the above, but since then, nothing in the logs.

No, it is all rigth. Because it is a line - a statistics not for all CaMM but only for AutoPurge process, which now strictly under the schedule (AutoPurge process timing setting), instead of each cacti's poller time as was earlier.

May be need change output to really all camm stats.

Hi,
The Camm plug in work great,
I need to play around a bit to get more out of it.
I only use this plugin for the syslog part.

2 questions

1. With the install of CAMM something wend wrong with the data base.
When i click on the CAMM tab is says i can not find a database.
So i put it in manually. installed the CAMM plug in again with PA. but now i have more screens. (See picture).

2. i have no gaphs under the tab stats.

do i forget something?

1. You need unnistall one of instance camm plugin - it will delete all other and after that install it once again. If You got error - show it for me.
2. You must import graphs template and place ss_camm_poller.php. After that manually create graphs and fill im camm's setting graph's ids in setting "Graphs id to show".

If i unstall the plugin the hole plunin is gone.
If i press install in the PA than i got this error:

FATAL: Database or Table does not exist

Then if i hit the back button, and go to the settings page the CAMM options a available when in change the data base name form syslog-ng to syslog and save the configuration and hit install again form the PA is works fine. but i still have 3 CAMM schreens in the PA page.
