I had almost no trouble importing these into my CactiEZ install. What problems I did have were between keyboard and chair. I'm pretty new to Cacti and Linux in general.

Looking at the graphs that I created for memory usage, I'd like to setup a threshold that when memory usage goes over a certain %, that I'm notified, but it doesn't appear that I'll be able to do that. Unless I'm missing something?

Thanks again GOdSmack, these will be very helpful.

Graphs Are Just Not Looking Right

Post by gdawson »

I have been toying with using your templates (Thank you!) for about a week now..

My graphs, however, are simply not looking right, and seem that the flow is not smooth and data is missing, making the graph look bad. It does not happen on all my graphs, only on memory usage - and not on all my hosts.

Also, is there a way in cacti to chagne the graph type to something other than the slopes we see here? What about a simple bar graph instead, it might look prettier. Thanks.[/img]

Error: XML: Hash version does not exist.

Post by joltman »

I'm receiving the error:

Error: XML: Hash version does not exist.

When I import the v7 of your templates. I have already copied in the snmp queries and chmod perms on them to be correct. I'm running CactiEZ 0.8.7c.

I'm sure I'll have issues on my other box which is an Ubuntu 9.04 server box running 0.8.7e. Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT:

I'm not having any issues with this on 0.8.7e. I guess I'll have to upgrade my CactiEZ install to 0.8.7e

Total memory

Post by joltman »

Would it be possible to include the TOTAL memory on the graph? Thanks!

The total amount of memory is the cumulative of all graphed items. This why I left some of the counters ungraphed.

Error: XML: Hash version does not exist.
It's been said many many times before..

Anytime this error comes up it means the version you are trying to import xml files into is older than the version the xml files were exported out of...

I grabbed what looked like the last version of the templates in this post.

When importing:
error
xml hash version does not exist

What version of cacti do you need for this? This is version 0.8.6.i, even the first templates posted give "xml hash version does not exist" error

Last time I upgraded Cacti there were some issues, and it didn't start working until an old copy of the database was restored. The RRA values are set to not consolidate on this installation and I don't want that to break after the upgrade, or for the upgrade to change any of the RRA values.

Is there any way to fix this without changing the version? What version do I need?

Confirmed to be working with Windows 7 now as well. Also just built from scratch a ubuntu 8.04 vm and installed cacti from repos and have updated from 0.8.7b to 0.8.7e and install PA 2.5. Imported the latest templates I posted here and all is running again.
