Feature Request (other sources of data)

Post by Livio Zanol »

Is there possible to have another source of data instead of an RRD?
Like defining a bash(or perl, or php) command?

Example:
TARGET `snmpget(192.168.0.1,public,1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.4)`

It would be quite usefull for some applications.

Yes it is since 0.9.

See http://www.network-weathermap.com/manua ... rgets.html

The target you want is the last one TARGET !scriptname

The script should return 4 lines: in value, out value, and two others which are ignored (this is so that existing MRTG scripts can be used).

One thing I just realised is that the script currently can't take any parameters though :o This particular plugin hasn't been tested too much

For your specific example, there is also an SNMP datasource plugin, although that again hasn't been thoroughly tested, and when I tried to use it myself for interface status (opStatus/adminStatus) I found that PHP's snmp functions are not so great, and not very consistent between versions and platforms.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)
