I'm using cacti 0.8.4 (tried with 0.8.3a too) and I have quite a large data source (about 40 Catalyst switches, 10 routers and some servers).
First of all I had to install cacti a few times because if the number of sources exceed 500 then I get into problems with number of filedescriptors open / process. Right now I have 6 cacti installations on that machine. Is this issue known? Is there a way around this?
Second, I've created a very large tree. For example on a Cisco Catalyst 6509 I have 2 fastethernet modules with 48 port each one I need to collect input/output traffic in bits and unicast packets. But, if I add all this items in the same tree item then it will be hard to access it easily so I've created 48 items for each module (each item has two graphs: bits and unicast packets). The problem is that every 10th item did not display graphs. I had to add an empty item into the tree menu every 10th item to workaround the problem.
Thank you.
Every 10th tree item does not display graphs
