Cactid poller Maximum runtime exceeded

Post by sharkyzz »

Hello,

Hardware:

CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.60GHz (3600.14-MHz 686-class CPU)
real memory = 2146893824 (2047 MB)
SEAGATE ST336754LC 15k RAID1

Setup:

apache+mod_ssl-1.3.36+2.8.27_1
php5
mysql-server-4.1.21
cactid-0.8.6.g
cacti-0.8.6h
05/13/2007 02:00:34 PM - SYSTEM STATS: Time:33.0518 Method:cactid Processes:3 Threads:3 Hosts:258 HostsPerProcess:86 DataSources:10256 RRDsProcessed:5863

Problem description:

As you can see we are running a quite big setup. Every weekend we are running full backups, with some incrementals during the week. During the full backup the load is high and cacti exceeds his runtime limit of 292 seconds. After it exceeds his limit, cacti stop measuring/updating the rrd's. The only thing we can do then is disabling all the devices, wait for a new polling interval and then enable everthing again.

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated..

greet,

Sam

Please increase php.ini memory settings to at least 64 MB, perhpas 128 MB is the better choice. If runtime exceeds 282 during backup due to excessive load, poller_output table may increase beyond limits

Oke, thank you.

Actually this was not exactly what i ment. It may fail for any reason, for let say 10 minutes, but after it exceeds its limit it will never start graphing again, only by disabling/enabling all the devices by hand.
