implementing PHP modules check

Post by Howie »

I tried posting this there. It repeatedly fails, saying that "Your message is sent to Hell" in the middle of a long-winded but unhelpful message.
It would be really nice if there were an optional part of the Cacti setup process that checked if you had the right PHP modules. Especially, since lots of platforms seem to just give a blank page or wierd behaviour if session or mysql are missing...

I'm thinking about the kind of thing that Gallery or Drupal has.

I've just written one of these for Weathermap, and it's not too hard at all, just as a quick checklist of available functions, php and mysql versions and so on.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)
